December 11th Ice Conditions

Current Ice Conditions

Ice conditions remain at 0-10″. Rain last night and wind over the past week has really slowed ice progress. The north end of Six Mile has been producing fish but Timmy and Brad noted a large area opened back up today. The main lake still has open spots on the north end of Creel Bay, Rocky Point, the Towers, while many other areas only have an inch or two. Walford’s bay and Military point have 6-7″. If you’re venturing out you’ll want to be sure to bring all of the safety essentials: some rope, ice picks, cleats, and use the buddy system.

For the most part, Alice, Irvine, Dry, and Mike’s Lake have between 5″-10″  and there’s been a good number of people hitting the northern lakes but again- some of these areas still have spots with open water. It looks like a cold snap is on it’s way in just about a week. Our ice crew guys will continue poking around and get some solid numbers but for now we’re still anxiously waiting for solid ice.
