December 20th Ice Conditions and Fishing Report

Got some more houses on the ice yesterday. Still limited on where we’re venturing but the cold snap is here. Ice conditions are anywhere from 5-9″ in Creel, parts of walfords Bay and the dome house. There are however still several dangerous spots with near open water. With the upcoming snow it’s going to make it difficult to see the dangerous spots so if you’re heading out be sure to drill as you go.

As for the bite- the fish have seemed to either be really active or very finicky. Marking them on the Vexilar has been more common than not but getting them to bite has been a different story. Slip bobbers with a plain hook and minnow have been the best bet. Jigging raps and buck shots have been working to get them lured in.

Bring on the ice making!
