February 9

The fishing on Devils Lake has been all over the board lately. Some days are really good and others are a struggle, I guess that’s why they call it fishing. The early morning and late evening shallow walleye bite has been very good, but seems to only last for about an hour. Moving to deeper waters throughout the day tends to extend the bite. Jigging spoons such as foraged minnows and kastmasters along with jigging raps have seemed to work the best with minnow heads or wax worms. Perch have continued to be hit and miss, there are many people marking them and seeing them on camera (so they are down there), anglers have continued to struggle getting them to bite. The smaller the hook the better when it comes to perch right now. The northern pike fishing has been and continues to be very good on Devils Lake.

Woodland Resort still have house available from now until March 15 if you are still looking to get up to Devils Lake to do some fishing. Give us a cal at 701-662-5996 ext. 1 to make reservations.
