January 13

Fishing on Devils Lake has continued to be slow, but has been showing signs of picking up the past couple of days. The bite has been the best right away in the morning and the last hour before sunset. The best walleye bite has been is depths around 15 feet, but are also catching them as deep as 40 feet. Perch have continued to be tough to catch, but people are marking quite a few so it should only be a matter of time before the bite turns on. Popular colors have been red or gold buckshot and foraged minnows.

Pressure ridges and cracks have been moving a lot lately, so use extreme caution when going around these areas.

The temperature is supposed to be 20’s and 30’s the next week, so hopefully the steady weather will help out with the fishing.

Good luck to those of you heading out fishing this next week!
