The Devil’s Lake Fishing Report for the weeks of June 25th to July 8th, 2018. Brought to you by Mitchell’s Guide Service. The largest, most experienced full time Guide Service serving the Devils Lake basin.
These past weeks have been stormy ones, but in between the waves and rain, the fishing has been excellent. The temperature during the day has been excellent, making for some relaxing days out of the North Dakota wind. The fishing has been excellent between storms, and the walleye habe been eager to bite the correct presentations. Almost all walleye are within the eater range, from 15 to 21 inches. Crankbaits trolled or casted have been performing well. The tried and true spinners and bouncers with leeches or crawlers are also taking walleyes in shallow and deeper water. For the most part the larger mature walleyes have been found shallow, although they have been caught on deeper structure also. The time we call the summer peak of fishing is now in full swing. July and August will feature some of the best open water fishing Devil’s Lake has to offer. There is no better time than right now to be walleye fishing at Devils Lake, North Dakota.
