Another week has gone by and we are now fully operational with our fish house lodging packages! This is one of the earliest years we’ve been fortunate enough to get out on the ice with our fish houses– that being said if you’re looking for early ice action there is still availability before Christmas. (Just a note the front desk/baitshop/fish houses are closed on Christmas Day)
Our ice crew guys were able to get around a dozen+ of our houses out in Creel Bay last week– and we’ll be shuffling more of the fleet out this week. We’ve been finding anywhere from 9″-12″ of ice, with a little less in the main bay out past Rocky and Military Point’s. ATV’s and Snobears are now safe throughout most parts of the lake. Now that more mobility is available, anglers have been venturing out to deeper water in that 35 to 40 foot range catching Perch on humps and drop-offs, stirring up a lot of noise with jigs like Buckshots.
The Walleye bite remains consistent anywhere from 10-25 feet of water. Per usual, flooded trees in the mornings and evenings using smaller sized Jigging Raps with minnow heads or waxies has worked out best.

Pike still strong according to North Dakota Game and Fish Survey
Devils Lake is really known as a Perch and Walleye fishery. But, Pike fishing is something you can expect to find a lot of success with here.
Thanks to all of you that came by and saw us at the Fargo Ice Show this past weekend! Looking forward to seeing some of you this winter.
